How to Troubleshoot a Samsung Series 6 Remote Control

Each Samsung Series 6 TV comes with a basic remote that can perform standard functions, such as changing channels, adjusting volume or selecting an HDMI component. If your Samsung Series 6 remote control is not working, there are several ways to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Open the battery cover on the back of the Samsung Series 6 remote control by pressing the release latch.

Remove the two AAA batteries from the compartment.

Press any button on the remote control's keypad and hold it down at least 20 seconds. This process will reset the remote's power cycle.

Replace the AAA batteries and the battery compartment cover. Try using the remote again to see if the problem has been resolved. If not, continue troubleshooting.

Remove the old batteries again and try replacing them with two new AAA batteries.

Turn on your digital camera or your cell phone camera.

Position the remote control 6 to 10 inches away from the lens of the camera.

Press any button on the remote control's keypad and look for a red flashing light on your camera's screen. If you see the red flashing light, the problem is being caused by the remote sensor on your television and you should contact Samsung for repair. If you do not see the red flashing light, the remote control is no longer functional and you should contact Samsung for a replacement.
