Remove the lined curtains from the curtain rod and look at the back of them to locate the care tag. Read the care tag to see if the curtains are made of cotton/polyester or a polyester composition, which are both safe to wash.
Take the lined curtains outside and shake them to remove as much dust as possible before washing.
Fill a clean bathtub half full of cool water. Add in 1 to 2 tbsp. of a gentle laundry detergent designed for delicates. Swish the water around with your hand to distribute the detergent.
Insert the lined curtains into the tub and push down on them until they are submersed in the water.
Gently rub the curtains using your hands to wash out any remaining dust and debris.
Push the curtains to the end of the tub opposite from the drain and drain the tub of water.
Refill the tub with clean, cool water. Swish the curtains around with your hands to rinse them and remove all of the detergent residue.
Drain the water from the tub and press the curtains down gently against the tub bottom to squeeze out most of the water.
Take the lined curtains to an outdoor clothesline and hang them up to air dry. Look at the back of the curtains and make sure the lined side is not folded up or wrinkled.
