What Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Has the Best Suction?

Hauling out a heavy canister vacuum and finding an outlet can be unwieldy and time consuming. When the problem is just a small spill, cordless hand-held and stick vacuums are lighter, more agile alternatives. The convenience comes at a cost since cordless vacuums often lack the suction power of their heavy counterparts. However, some models have received kudos from professionals and consumers for their suction power.

Hoover Platinum Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum

In 2011, the website Vacuum Cleaner Adviser cited the Hoover Platinum Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum as a top five stick vacuum picks.  The magazine noted its suction was good on both bare and carpeted floors. The battery-operated vacuum weights 73 pounds and has a long warranty of six years.

Dyson D31 and Dyson D31 Animal

The D31 Animal is equipped with a motorized brush for pet hair.  When they are fully charged, these vacuums provide 10 minutes of constant suction or six minutes with a 70 percent stronger suction.

Many reviewers gave the vacuum a perfect score, particularly for design and suction strength of the vacuum.  Consumer Search also claimed the vacuum received a high owners rating on Epinionscom.
