Asbestos Cement Pipe Specifications
Cement asbestos pipes are a combination of asbestos fibers and cement. There are three classes of asbestos cement pipes: the 100, 150 and 200.
These pipes range from 4 inches to 24 inches in diameter. They have a tested pressure strength of 100 pounds per square inch (psi).
A slightly more resilient pipe able to withstand greater pressures, the class 150 asbestos cement pipe can withstand pressures up to 150 psi. Class 150 pipes have a minimum, regulated diameter of 4 inches and a maximum regulated diameter of 24 inches.
The strongest class of asbestos cement pipe, the 200 class of pipe withstands pressures of up to 200 psi. The diameter range of a class 200 asbestos cement pipe is 4 inches to 24 inches.
