Asbestos Cement Pipe Specifications

Cement asbestos pipes are a combination of asbestos fibers and cement. There are three classes of asbestos cement pipes: the 100, 150 and 200.

Class 100

These pipes range from 4 inches to 24 inches in diameter. They have a tested pressure strength of 100 pounds per square inch (psi).

Class 150

A slightly more resilient pipe able to withstand greater pressures, the class 150 asbestos cement pipe can withstand pressures up to 150 psi. Class 150 pipes have a minimum, regulated diameter of 4 inches and a maximum regulated diameter of 24 inches.

Class 200

The strongest class of asbestos cement pipe, the 200 class of pipe withstands pressures of up to 200 psi. The diameter range of a class 200 asbestos cement pipe is 4 inches to 24 inches.
