Things You Will Need
When your shade cloth isn’t large enough to cover the roof in one fell swoop, join several pieces of shade cloth.

Spread out the shade cloth, exposing the sides that you wish to join together.

Overlap the shade-cloth edges and line up the seams as well as you can. You may or may not be able to line up the seams perfectly because of the type of shade cloth or the manufacturer, but as long as the corners of the fabric match up, you should be fine.

Push one of the joining pins into the overlapped edges of the shade cloth. Weave the pin through the shade cloth in an “over-under” fashion.

Pull back on the pin to lock the pin into place. Continue applying pins every few inches until the shade cloth is completely joined.
