Dishes and Silverware Not Clean
On some occasions, you may notice that dishes and silverware are not clean after a cycle in your GE Triton XL dishwasher. Your dishes may remain dirty if the water temperature inside the tub is too low. To increase the temperature, run the hot water faucet in the sink closest to the dishwasher before turning on the dishwasher. When the water gets as hot as possible, start the dishwasher and turn off the faucet. In addition, low water pressure may also prevent the dishwasher from effectively cleaning your dishes, so check the pressure in the nearby faucet. If it appears low, wait until it returns to normal before running the dishwasher.
Dishes Still Wet After Cycle
In some instances, the dishes in your GE Triton XL may still be wet after the washing cycle has completed. Typically, dishes remain wet if the water inlet temperature is too low. Before running the dishwasher, be sure to select the Heated Dry mode and choose the Hot Start, Hot Wash or Add Heat options for the cycle. You may also need to choose a cycle that uses a higher temperature, such as the Pots & Pans; Anti-Bacteria or Sani Wash. In addition, check to make sure that rinse agent dispenser is full and refill if necessary.
Water Doesn’t Drain After Cycle
Your GE Triton XL dishwasher may sometimes be unable to pump water out of the tub after the cycle has completed. In most cases, this indicates that there is a clog in the drain. If your dishwasher has an air gap, make sure it is clean. Turn of the dishwasher and remove the chrome cover. Lift off the air gap’s plastic cap and use a toothpick to gently clean it. If the dishwasher is connected to a sink that has a garbage disposal, run the disposal to clear any obstructions. In some instances, the problem may be with the sink itself. Check to see if it is draining normally, and consult a plumber if there is an issue.
Suds in Washing Tub After Cycle
Suds may linger in your tub after your GE Triton XL dishwasher’s tub after its cycle has completed if you do not use the correct detergent. Be sure to use a type of automatic dishwasher detergent that is recommended by GE in the dishwasher’s use and care manual. To clean away suds, open the dishwasher so air can help the suds dissolve. Close the dishwasher again and hit the Start/Reset button once. Wait 30 seconds and hit the Start/Reset button again. Water will pump into the tub and drain out, removing any lingering suds.
