Things You Will Need

Turn off your Asko dryer and the cut power to it by either unplugging it or shutting off its circuit switch in the fuse box.

Remove the lint trap by using a Phillips head screwdriver to take out the screws that hold it in place.

Release the door harness switch. Remove the Phillips screws that secure the front panel of the dryer and detach the panel.

Remove the defunct dryer belt by pulling it away from the tumbler. Pull it past the idler and away from the front motor pulley, then the rear motor pulley. Keep track of the order as you’ll need to reverse it when installing the new belt.

Wedge a small wooden block underneath the tumbler to hold it in place as you install the new belt. Fit the belt to the rear motor pulley notches, then the front motor pulley. Install the remaining segment of the dryer belt around the tumbler.

Reattach the front panel of the dryer. Reach inside and turn the tumbler by hand one full rotation counterclockwise to set the belt. Replace the door harness switch. Reinstall the dryer’s lint trap housing.

Reestablish electrical current to your Asko and test for proper operation.
