How to Tie Tie-Up Shades
Fashion meets function with attractive tie-up shades. Extend the shades all the way down over a window for privacy and light control. Raise the shades when you wish to see out the window or allow light in. Secure tie-up shades at any position by using the ties.

Fold the shades up from the bottom to raise them. For the neatest look, make narrow accordion folds back and forth until you raise the shade to the height you want.

Grasp the ties hanging down from the shades. You should find two ties on the left side of the shade and two ties on the right side of the shade -- one tie on the front of the shade and one tie on the back of the shade.

Tie the two ties on the left side of the shade together in a standard bow. Make the bow tight and snug enough to hold the shade up.

Tie the two ties on the right side of the shade together in a standard bow using the same technique you used on the left side.

Stand back and look at the shade to make sure it is even. If the shade is not even, make one tie either looser or tighter to make the shade even.

Untie the ties to lower the shade.
