Decide whether to try to repair the item or get a new one. JB Weld can be used for almost anything made of metal, plastic, wood, or ceramic around the house, farm or on a vehicle. If the item is critical for bodily safety, however, it would probably be wise to replace it.

Clean all pieces thoroughly. Scrape rust and debris from metal and use solvent and a rag to clean off any oil or grease.

Mix equal portions of resin and hardener in an adequate amount to do the repair you have in mind. Use a disposable piece of plastic to mix on, such as a jar lid or clean food dish and a wooden paddle such as a tongue depressor or match stick.

Follow instructions on the JB Weld package or one of the tubes. Work quickly. The chemical reaction is starting when you can feel a little heat from the mixture and it will set up in a few minutes.

Clamp the pieces together or hold firmly until the glue is set, then let the JB Weld harden for the required length of time before using the item.
