Wipe the outside edge of your deck or patio ceiling with a damp cloth to remove any dust or cobwebs. Let it dry for one hour. Use the measuring tape to measure the width of your mosquito netting curtains.
Measure out a length of Velcro tape that matches the width of the curtains, minus 2 inches. Remove the adhesive backing of the Velcro tape and press the sticky side into the dry edge of the deck ceiling. The tape will hold the curtains up.
Drive a staple into the tape every 12 inches with the staple gun. The staples reinforce the tape and prevent it from eventually coming off the deck ceiling.
Unpack your mosquito curtain and locate the two top corners.
Poke a small hole into each of the top corners with a screwdriver. The hole should go through the reinforced hem along the top of the curtain.
Install the female part of the marine snap into each of the two corners. To do so, hold the small plastic wheel in one hand and lower the button of the snap into the center. Place the wheel under the hole you created in the first corner, so the button comes up through the hole. Press the female snap over the button. Insert the flaring tool into the female snap and use a hammer to strike the tool five times. Remove the wheel and the flaring tool. The female snap will be secure. Repeat in the other corner.
Drill the male component of the marine snap into the deck ceiling. One male component goes at each end of the Velcro tape.
Lift the mosquito netting curtain toward the ceiling of your deck. Snap the female snap in the first top corner into the first male component. Press the reinforced hem along the top of the curtain into the Velcro tape. Continue pressing the curtain into the tape until you reach the other end of the deck. Press the final female snap into the male component of the marine snap.
