How to Cover an Unused Telephone Jack

Telephone jacks are generally used in the home to connect telephones to a telephone provider, thus allowing you to dial and connect to other phones.

However, if you find that you need to cover your telephone jack, do so by replacing the telephone jack cover with a wall plate.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the top and bottom of the telephone jack wall cover.

Remove the telephone jack wall cover from the wall. Pull the telephone jack cable out of the wall cover, and place it inside the hole in your wall.

Attach the solid plate wall cover to the wall, where your telephone jack cover once was. Use the screwdriver, and the screws you removed in Step 1, to screw the solid plate wall cover to the wall.

Things You Will Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Solid cover wall plate
