Gear up. When cleaning mold, you should always wear gloves, goggles and an N-95 respirator. Protect your skin with pants and long sleeves.
Pour some hot water into a bucket. Add several drops of soap. Make sure the soap has no ammonia in it.
Add the soap solution to the mold in your bedroom. Scrub the area down with a stiff brush.
Remove the standing liquid using a wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
Pour 5 cups of water into a spray bottle using a funnel. Add ½ cup of bleach. This solution is used to disinfect your bedroom and keep mold from coming back.
Open up the windows and turn the ceiling fan on, if there is one. Then, spray down the area using the disinfecting bleach solution. Wait several minutes.
Wipe down the area with a cloth saturated in plain water. Dry with towels to prevent a future mold problem from the added moisture.
