Weight Capacities
Pallet trucks differ in weight capacities and money. As a rule of thumb, the more expensive the truck, the more weight it can handle. The following are examples of weight capacities: Standard hand pallet trucks can have range capacities of 3,300 to 6,600 pounds; rough terrain trucks range from 2,640 to 7,700 pounds; galvanized and stainless steel can range from 2,200 to 4,400 pounds; and heavy duty trucks can range up to 22,000 pounds.
Powered Pallet Trucks
If you are moving heavier loads, you can consider a powered pallet truck. The motor is electric and takes strain away from your legs, arms and back. All pallet trucks are designed to provide ease of use, no matter how heavily loaded. The amount you can move with a pallet truck is still dependent on your strength and physical fitness regardless of how easy the wheels and jack work. A powered pallet truck can lighten the strain and allow you to work as long as the batter is charged.
