You can purchase window tinting film from your local home-improvement store, and there is usually a wide variety of tinting film to choose from.

Measure and cut your window tinting film with scissors so that it will fit exactly on to your sliding glass doors. Measure your windows no less than three times, and even then you should place the tinting film up against the window just to make sure the measurements are correct. Use a metal straight edge as a guide to make straight cuts.

Wipe down your sliding glass doors with a wet towel to clean any of the larger debris off of the window.

Liberally spray ammonia-based window cleaner on your doors, and then thoroughly dry them with a towel. Do not proceed to the next step until your sliding glass doors are completely dry.

Install the window tinting material onto your sliding glass doors. Use a small tinting material roller to help work out the air pockets and bumps that develop under the tinting material.

Use the metal straight edge to smooth the tinting material out completely, and make it clear against the glass.
