How to Paint Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher
Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher is a fast-drying repair material for concrete surfaces, including driveways, walls and walkways. The substance spreads easily and consists of fine sand, vinyl resin and Portland cement.
Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher is available in two colors, gray and white, but also accepts latex and oil paints if you need the substance in another color. You must let the concrete patch dry completely before you sand it or apply paint.
Things You Will Need
- Broom or soft cloth
- Work gloves
- Sandpaper, 200-grit or higher (fine)
- Soft rag or towel
- 3 paint trays
- Latex- or oil-based exterior primer
- Latex- or oil-based exterior paint
- 3 paint rollers or brushes
- Concrete sealer (optional)
- Ready-to-use degreasing solution
- Warm water
- Bucket
- Scrub brush

If the concrete surface is exposed to weather and other elements, fill a clean or new paint tray with concrete sealer and apply the substance to the patching compound and surrounding area, using a clean or new paint roller/brush. Concrete sealer is available at hardware and home improvement stores. If the concrete surface with the Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher is soiled with oil and grime, wash the surface with a ready-to-use degreasing solution by mixing ½ cup of degreasing solution and 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket and applying the mixture with a scrub brush to remove the buildup.
