How to Repel Beavers

Beavers are large rodents that damage trees and wood. They can also contaminate any outdoor water supply that they come into contact with. Before paying expensive professionals for their extermination services, try getting rid of the beavers on your own.

Things You Will Need

  • 6 cups coarse sand
  • 2-gallon bucket
  • 1 gallon indoor latex paint
  • Wooden mixing stick
  • Paint brush

Before paying expensive professionals for their extermination services, try getting rid of the beavers on your own.  There is a homemade beaver repellent remedy that will deter beavers from chewing wood on your property.

  1. Pour 6 cups of coarse sand into a 2-gallon bucket.
  2. Pour 1 gallon of indoor latex paint into the bucket.
  3. Use a wooden mixing stick to thoroughly blend the paint and sand together.
  4. Use a paint brush to apply the paint and sand mixture to any area that needs to be treated for beavers.
  5. Tip

    It may be necessary to paint an additional coat of this paint mixture due to aging and weather conditions.

    Warning

    Do not attempt to use this paint repellent method during damp or wet weather because the paint will not adhere properly. It is best to do it during sunny weather.
