How to Clean Prada Canvas Handbags
Founded by Mario Prada in 1913, the Italian Prada brand is known for its luxury clothing and handbag collections. Prada also offers a line of canvas handbags, which are available in a variety of sizes and colors.
Many Prada canvas handbags are available with the logo embossed across the front and trimmed with high-quality leather. The canvas is durable, although unfortunately not immune to accidental stains and spills. Protect your investment by spot cleaning your Prada canvas handbag with the correct products.
Things You Will Need
- 1 tablespoon mild laundry soap
- White washcloths
-
Create a mixture of one-half gallon warm water and 1 tablespoon mild laundry detergent formulated for delicates. Dampen the corner of a white washcloth with the soapy water.
-
Lay the Prada canvas bag on a flat surface, such as your kitchen table or dresser. Dab at the stains with the dampened washcloth. Avoid rubbing the stains, this can damage the canvas and cause the stain to bleed or spread.
-
Continue to dab at the stain with the laundry detergent mixture until it’s completely eliminated. Dampen a separate white washcloth with plain water and gently dab at the previously stained area to remove any soapy residue.
-
Set the Prada canvas handbag in a cool area and allow it to air dry.
Tip
If the handbag is severely stained and cannot be cleaned by using laundry soap, consider having it professionally cleaned. Avoid using laundry soap on the Prada canvas bag’s leather trim. If leather is present, clean it with a product intended for use on leather. Once clean, protect the trim from cracking or damage by applying a light coating of leather conditioner.
