Intermatic HB88RC Instructions
The Intermatic HB88RC digital outdoor timer automatically turns on lamps, holiday lights, landscape lighting and other outdoor devices that can plug into it.
The HB88RC supports up to seven programmable events and features seven-day programming, three schedule presets, a customizable preset and a three-prong grounded plug. After the timer is mounted, programming the unit, connecting devices to it and changing the battery are straightforward processes.

Plug the HB88RC into a wall or strip outlet and plug a device, such as a lamp, into the timer outlet located on the bottom.

Push the “Day” button repeatedly until the current day appears on the display. Push the “Hour” button repeatedly until the current hour appears on the display. Push the “Min” button until the current minute appears on the display.

Push the “Prog” button to begin scheduling a program. The days of the week appear on the display along with “Event 1” and “On” in the left corner. Push the “Day” button until the desired activation schedule appears. Select from one of the four options: all days of the week, single days, only weekdays or only weekends. Push the “Hour” and “Minute” buttons to adjust the time of day you wish the connected device to turn on. Push the “Prog” button. The display changes to “Off” in the left-hand corner. Repeat the process to set up an “Off” time. Push the “Prog” button again to advance to the next event. You can program up to seven events on the HB88RC.

Push the “Prog” button while the current time is displayed to review programmed events. Push the “Prog” button again to view the next event. Push the “Clock” button to exit the viewing process and return to the current time.

Push the “Mode” button to override the current program in preparation for "Random" mode. Push the “Clock” button to display the current time. Push the “Mode” button until “RDM” appears in the upper-right corner of the display. This sets the timer to "Random," which gives the appearance that someone is home. Connected devices, such as lamps and TVs, turn on randomly.

Unscrew the battery chamber door on the back of the timer with a Phillips-head screwdriver, if the battery dies. Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly. Insert one AA battery according to the polarity indicators printed inside the chamber. Replace the battery chamber cover.
