How to Light a Pilot on a Majestic Fireplace

Nathaniel Miller

Majestic fireplaces offer warmth, comfort, and decor to any home and are reliable with a strong company backing. After the long summer months, when the air turns crisp and the leaves are falling its time to get the fireplace ready to use again.

The first and most basic step to getting your Majestic fireplace ready for winter is to light the pilot light on the gas logs. Igniting the pilot light is not difficult and can be performed in just a few minutes by anyone.

Warning

Be extremely careful when lighting the pilot light and if the stove is going to not be used for several more weeks, make sure to check the pilot light periodically to make sure it is still lit.

  1. Locate the gas line that enters your house (normally in the basement of the home) and make sure the inline valve is turned to the "On" position.

  2. Examine the Majestic fireplace and clean off any dust from the gas logs. Also move any furniture or low-hanging cloth from the area surrounding the fireplace as these things are fire hazards.

  3. Locate the gas turn on knob near the back of the fireplace and turn the knob to the "On" position. Now find the temperature knob on the front of the fireplace and turn it to "Light".

  4. Strike one of the long handled matches and place it through the small hole on the front of the gas logs that leads back to the pilot light. Wait until you are sure the pilot light is lit and then pull the match out and turn the temperature knob to the desired temperature.
