Mix 2 to 4 tbsp. of baking soda with 1 quart of warm water. Mix to dissolve thoroughly.
Remove the turntable and glass plate from the microwave. Soak the glass plate in a basin with the baking soda and water solution while you clean the microwave.
Saturate a clean soft cloth or sponge with the solution of baking soda and water. Wring out the excess water to prevent dripping.
Wipe down the interior walls, floor and top of the oven with the baking soda and water solution. Rinse the cloth with water and wipe away the baking soda residue.
Scrub the glass plate lightly with a soft cloth to remove any remnants of food residue and rinse it clean with plain water. Wipe dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.
Wipe down all parts of the turntable with a cloth saturated in the baking soda solution. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
Replace the turntable and glass plate in the microwave.
