How to get grease stains out of a tablecloth
Grab a soft, absorbent cloth and immediately soak up all the excess liquid when a greasy mess occurs. Do not rub vigorously as these could damage the delicate fibers.
Check your care label before treating and laundering your tablecloth, some fabrics need to be dry cleaned only and others can not withstand harsh detergents. Use detergent or petroleum-based pre-treatment solution to saturate the stained area. If this is not available, any heavy-duty liquid detergent should work if the stain is treated right away. Dish-washing liquids or shampoos can also be effective at removing these oil-based stains.
Wash your tablecloth as soon as possible to minimize the risk of permanent staining. Using hot water is the most effective method, but follow the washing instructions on the care label so as not to damage your fabric further.
Dry your tablecloth according to the label instructions only after you have checked to make sure the stain is gone. Do not dry if any stain remains; treat again with the detergent or a paste made from powdered detergent and water. When you are sure the stain is completely gone, you can dry the tablecloth.
