How to Clean an Oven Door With Vinegar
If you cook a lot, you may notice that the glass door of your oven is a catch-all for spatters and spills. Vinegar is an all-purpose cleaner for a wide range of items in the house, including the oven door. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and low in cost compared to commercially prepared cleaners. In fact, several commercial window and glass cleaners add vinegar to their product. The acidity in the vinegar is also an effective weapon against mold, bacteria and germs.
Ensure that your door is not hot to the touch before you begin.
Don latex or rubber gloves if you don't want the smell of vinegar on your hands, or if it is an irritant to your skin.
Pour white vinegar at full strength into a bowl.
Dip a clean sponge into the vinegar.
Saturate the inside of oven door with the vinegar. Keep the door open and in the "down" position so the vinegar can sit on the glass for 10 to 15 minutes.
Wipe the residue from the glass door with a clean, wet sponge, turning the sponge and rinsing frequently to avoid redepositing dirt back to the glass.
Dry the glass with a clean towel to reduce streaks.
