How to Clean a Black Painted Wood Kitchen Table

Mel Frank

The kitchen table is often a centerpiece of your kitchen decor, coming in a variety of materials and finishes. Painted wood is one kitchen table option, and a black paint color adds a sleek, modern look to your kitchen area. Just as with any other type of kitchen table, you must clean the black-painted wood regularly to keep the table clean and in usable condition. Mixing an inexpensive cleaning solution works well and uses no harsh chemicals on your eating area.

Store your kitchen table cleaner in a spray bottle.
  1. Pour 1/2 tsp. washing soda into a spray bottle. Add about 5 drops of white vinegar if you want to add a disinfecting element.

  2. Pour 2 cups water into the spray bottle and twist on the lid.

  3. Spray the mix over your kitchen table, and gently wipe off the solution, following the wood grain while wiping so you get no splintering.

  4. Dry the table with a clean rag if the table has a gloss finish, as this will prevent water spots or streaking. Skip this step if the kitchen table is unfinished.
