How to Clean Chalk Out of Upholstery
Chalk is a type of calcium carbonate that flakes and powders easily. This makes is useful for writing on surfaces such as chalkboards, but it also makes it easy to accidentally smudge chalk onto other surfaces. If you happen to get chalk on your upholstery, don't panic. You can remove chalk from upholstered surfaces fairly easily using the proper technique.
Apply dry cleaning solvent to a clean, white cloth. Most dry cleaning solvents are composed mainly of the chemical perchloroethylene, which works to dissolve many organic substances
Dab the solvent onto the chalk stain.
Blot the area dry with another clean cloth.
Repeat this procedure until the stain is gone.
