How to Clean Leather with Oil

We all love leather it is very soft and beautiful to look at. I am going to give you tips on cleaning your leather with Murphy's oil soap. This will give it a beautiful look every time.

Things You Will Need

  • measuring cup
  • bowl or cleaning bucket
  • 2 medium sized soft cloths

This will give it a beautiful look every time. 


How to Clean Leather with Oil

  1. If your leather is a clothing item hang it up this way you can properly inspect it for dirt and debries. If it is a larger leather item then spread out or bring out into an area where you have room to clean it.
  2. Mix 1/4 cup murphys oil soap to 5 cups of water using the container you have available.
  3. Take one of the cloths and submerge into solution. Make sure to ring out excess water you want the rag damp not wet.
  4. Pick an area to start and clean in sections using a circular motion gently pressing on the leather.
  5. After cleaning a medium sized area of the leather take the dry cloth and gently buff dry using the same circular motion.
  6. Repeat this process until your leather is clean.
  7. Tip

    For stains that will not come out take to a professional. Make sure not to get jacket overly wet.

    Warning

    Do not use these instructions on suede. Suede should be dry-cleaned only.
