How to Hang Christmas Lights on Brick
You don't necessarily have to deface the brick with drilled holes to hang Christmas lights on a brick house. You can secure Christmas lights to the brick with metal clips specifically designed to grip the top and bottom edges of brick.
Things You Will Need
- Ladder
- Brick clips
- Flat-head screw driver
- Outdoor Christmas lights
- Electrical tape
The clips must be placed where the edge of the brick protrudes at least 1/8 inch from the mortar.
-
Position the clip's spring edge at the bottom of the brick.
-
Push the clip up with a flat-head screwdriver until the top of the clip grips the top of the brick.
-
Place strands of lights on the clips, starting at the edge of your house.
-
Tape electrical wires to brick with electrical tape.
Tip
Check the lights before hanging to make sure that they are in working order.
Warning
Avoid using lights outside that are intended for indoor use.
