How to Empty a DustBuster Cone
DustBuster is a trademarked brand of cordless hand vacuums by Black & Decker. These handy cleaning tools are great for quick touch-ups and small jobs when you don't want to get the big vacuum out of the closet.
Powerful yet lightweight, DustBuster hand vacuums feature a three-step filtration process to help keep the exhaust air clean, cyclonic vacuum action for powerful suction and a proprietary AccuREACH nozzle to get to those hard-to-reach places. Emptying the cone is a snap as well.
Things You Will Need
- DustBuster hand vac
- Waste basket
- Warm, soapy water
- Soft cloth
-
Locate the on/off switch located on the top of the handle. Slide the switch backward to the off position.
-
Locate the dust bowl release button on the top of the DustBuster unit, directly behind the line where the cone meets the motor housing. Hold the unit by the handle with one hand. Grasp the cone with your free hand. Press down on the dust bowl release button.
-
Pull the cone down and out. Empty the debris within the cone into a waste basket. Set the cone aside.
-
Grasp the cone filter located on the motor housing. Twist in a clockwise direction and pull backward to remove. Shake the filter out into a waste basket. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water, then rinse completely. Allow the filter to dry completely.
-
Wipe the cone down with warm, soapy water. Wipe with clear water to remove any soap residue. Allow the cone to dry completely.
-
Place the filter back onto the motor housing and turn counterclockwise to fix it in place. Place the cone back into position. Push until the cone clicks into place.
Tip
Best results are obtained when the filter and cone are clean and when the cone is emptied after each use. If debris falls out of the cone when the unit is switched off, the cone is full and requires emptying. These instructions are specific to the DustBuster 14.4V Cordless Cyclonic Hand Vac. Other DustBuster models may vary slightly. Always follow the instructions in the product manual for best result.
Warning
DustBuster Dry Hand Vacs are designed only for dry debris. Do not attempt to use on wet surfaces.
The manufacturer warns against using an extension cord with the DustBuster charging base.
Never vacuum any burning debris such as cigarette butts that have not been completely extinguished.
