How to Get Odor Out of Wicker
Wicker furniture, like most furniture, can get dirty if it is not properly cared for. Wicker can be found inside and outside the home. If it is kept in humid conditions or left outside in the rain, wicker will ruin. This leads to mold and mildew, which can result in unwanted odor.
Other common odor causing issues are pet urine and cigarette smoke.
Things You Will Need
- 1/4 cup chlorine leach
- 2 gallons warm water
- Bristle brush

Place your wicker furniture outside or in your garage with newspaper or cloth underneath. Working with bleach can destroy fabrics, carpet and wood, so it's best to take the furniture outside.

Mix 1/4 cup of chlorine bleach and 2 gallons of warm water in a big bucket. Start coating your furniture with the bristle brush completely. Get in between the crevices and throughout the woven pieces.

Rinse the furniture completely with warm water to remove any chlorine bleach.

Leave the furniture to dry in the sun. Don't let it sit out there all day because the wicker will start to fade from prolonged sun exposure.

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 one additional time.
Warning
Make sure your furniture is completely dry before you make any attempt to sit on it. Sitting on wet wicker could break your chair.
