How to Paint Aluminum Pans
Painting is a popular hobby and pastime. It is frequently used in schools during art classes and to help younger children learn about textures, colors, numbers and any number of other things. Aluminum pans can be used for works of art. It is not difficult if you know how to help the paint stick to the aluminum.
Things You Will Need
- Tempera paints
- Small dishes, pallets or heavy-duty paper plates
- Clear dish soap
- Paintbrushes
- Cup
- Screwdriver
- String
-
Put tempera paints on small dishes, pallets or heavy-duty paper plates.
-
Stir in a drop or two of clear dish soap. This is the extra adhesive that will get the paint to stick to the aluminum pans.
-
Paint anything you desire on the aluminum pan with paintbrushes. Rinse the brushes thoroughly in a cup of water after you finish with a specific color and when you are through painting.
-
Use a screwdriver to poke a hole in the side of the aluminum pan above your painting.
-
Lace a piece of string through the hole and knot it. Use the string to hang your painting.
Tip
Make sure to clean the paintbrushes thoroughly after using them. If the brushes are craft quality, not professional quality, wash them in a sink with soap and water. Aluminum pans typically can be purchased at any grocery store in the baking aisle. They are not very expensive, which makes them great supplies for kids crafts.
