How to Clean Microfiber Leather Couches
Microfiber leather is a soft, durable fabric that is commonly used in sofas and other furniture pieces. The microfiber is tightly woven and designed to repel stains and discoloration, making it a perfect fabric choice for upholstery that will constantly be used in the home.
Properly maintaining the couch will take just a few minutes of your time during your regular housekeeping routine and can be done with simple household cleaning items.
Things You Will Need
- Vacuum
- Mild soap
- Water
- Cleaning rag
- Old toothbrush
- Bowl
- Whisk
-
Vacuum the microfiber leather couch regularly to collect loose dirt and crumbs. This will allow the couch to remain looking like new, plus collect residue as it develops, making the cleaning process much easier.
-
Pour 1 cup of water into a bowl with 1 Tbsp. of mild soap such as dish soap or laundry detergent.
-
Whisk the soapy water to create a large portion of soap suds.
-
Scoop the suds with a cleaning rag, then rub onto the microfiber leather surface. Using just the suds will eliminate the introduction of excess moisture, which will potentially cause water marks and stains to develop.
-
Repeat the whisking and soap suds application until you have cleaned the entire couch.
-
Scrub the suds into heavily soiled areas with an old toothbrush. This will also allow you to scrub small crevices that are hard to clean with the cloth rag by itself.
