How to Clean Carpets With Vinegar & Baking Soda
Retail carpet cleaning products may be effective, but they are also expensive. Most of these items are also made of harsh chemicals that are harmful to family and pets. Vinegar, on the other hand, is a natural disinfectant agent that will kill bacteria without the use of chemicals.
Baking soda is also a natural cleaning element as well as deodorizer that is safe for the home and family.

Sprinkle the carpet with a light dusting of baking soda. Work the baking soda into the carpet's knap with a broom, brushing up and down and side to side to work the baking soda into all areas of the carpeting. Let it sit overnight.
-
Vacuum the next morning to collect the baking soda and remove any odors.

Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar, and mist over your carpeting. The vinegar aroma will disappear within a few hours, leaving your carpet fresh and bacteria free.
