Rock salt is great for eliminating the snow outside your house, but when it gets tracked into the house, it can cause ugly stains on your carpet. Rock salt has a number of great uses, the most common being to help to break up ice on walkways and driveways to help prevent slips and falls. -
Vacuum up the pieces of rock salt that are on the carpet.

Mix a solution of equal parts vinegar and water and put it into a spray bottle.
-

-
Allow the vinegar solution to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes.
