Spilled glue can adhere easily to this type of hard flooring, but if left on the laminate flooring can decrease the value of the flooring.

Perform a spot test on your laminate flooring. Put a dab of the acetone-based fingernail polish remover on to the cotton square and holding it on an inconspicuous area of the laminate flooring for one minute. Allow the remover to dry completely, this will take about five minutes. Check to see if any discoloring occurs to the laminate flooring.

Wet the cotton square with acetone-based fingernail polish remover and rub the glue on the laminate flooring. Allow five minutes for the acetone to penetrate the glue. The glue should be saturated with the fingernail polish remover.

Use the putty knife to gently scrape underneath the glue. If you cannot get underneath the glue, wet one end of a cotton swab with the acetone-based fingernail polish remover and rub the acetone underneath the edges of the glue stain.

Wipe the area with a cotton swab that has been dampened with the acetone fingernail polish remover. Then wipe it down with clean water and a cotton swab. This will remove the acetone from your laminate flooring.
