3M Weatherstrip Adhesive Removal

3M weatherstrip adhesive provides an easy way to seal cracks that would otherwise let cold air in during the winter months and let hot air in during the warm summer months.

The adhesive creates a tight seal, often so tight that it is difficult to remove when you no longer want that weatherstrip intact. You can remove the 3M weatherstrip from any surface with inexpensive household items.

Peel away as much of the weatherstrip as possible.

Soak paper towels in white vinegar, and lay them over the adhesive. Let the towels sit in place for about 15 minutes.

Remove the paper towels, and scrub the adhesive with one of them.

Continue the process, letting the paper towels sit on the adhesive for additional 15-minute increments as needed until all the adhesive easily rubs away.
