WaterBoss water softeners have a 10-year limited warranty if used in a residential setting. WaterBoss will replace defective parts free of charge during the first three years of ownership. The resin tank and brine cabinet are warrantied for 10 years. The owner is responsible for shipping the part to WaterBoss and must pay the cost of shipping the replacement part. The warranty does not cover the cost of labor. Troubleshoot the water softener to avoid the cost of an unwarranted service call.
Things You Will Need
- Salt
- Broom handle
- Small appliance
No Soft Water
-
Open the salt lid on top of the water softener. Add salt if the water level is higher than the salt. Wait two hours. Press and hold the “Regenerate” button for three seconds.
-
Lift the valve cover assembly off the top of the water softener. Remove the air check draw tube attached to the safety shutoff on the right side of the inside of the cabinet. Flush the tube with clean water to remove sediment. Remove sediment in the brine cabinet. Replace the air check draw tube and the valve cover assembly on top of the cabinet.
-
Locate the drain line on the back of the cabinet. Remove kinks in the drain line. If the line is frozen, thaw the line.
-
Open the salt lid and insert a broom handle to dislodge salt bridges. Salt bridges form during periods of high humidity or if the wrong kind of salt is used.
-
Trace the inlet and outlet lines on the back of the cabinet. The bypass valve is located between the lines. Turn the bypass valve handle clockwise to place it in the service position. In the service position, the handle is at a 90-degree angle to the water pipe.
-
Press and hold the “Regenerate” button for three seconds to reset hardness after a power outage has occurred.
Read Out Lights Blink or are Not On
-
Plug the electric cord in fully. If the lights still do not come on, plug a small appliance into the outlet to ensure it is working.
-
Check the household breaker box. Reset tripped breakers by pushing them into the “On” position.
-
Call for service if the lights still do not come on. The transformer or circuit board is defective.
