How to Extend Chandelier Length
Chandeliers usually hang over a dining room table or in an entry way or living room, and they add a touch of elegance to regular household lighting. In most cases a chandelier should hang 30 inches from the surface of a table or 6 ½ to 7 feet from the floor if it is in a living area.
Most chandeliers come with an additional length of chain and wire so you can extend their length if you need to do so.
-
Stand on a solid and secure surface. Have an assistant hold the chandelier to support it while you extend its length.
-
Remove the chain and wire of the chandelier from the hook in your ceiling that holds it.
-
Select a new chain length for the chandelier, and place the chain through the hook to hold the chandelier in place.
-
Place the chandelier back in its position gently.
