How to Get Whiteout Off of Leather
Correcting fluids such as Wite-Out and Liquid Paper work well when you need to fix an error on a piece of paper. If the fluid spills on a leather surface, however, it dries quickly and creates a problem.
Leather is expensive, so when removing the correcting fluid, you want to be sure you are using ingredients that effectively sop up the white mess without causing damage to the leather. White vinegar and linseed oil can clean the leather in seconds.
Things You Will Need
- Bowl
- White vinegar
- Linseed oil
- Cleaning rag

Mix 2 parts linseed oil to1 part white vinegar in a bowl.

Dip the corner of a cleaning rag into the mixture. Squeeze excess liquid out of the rag, and rub the rag over the spot. Rub in small circular motions. This should quickly dissolve the correction fluid and remove the stain.

Wipe the area with a clean section of the rag to remove any excess residue.

Clean the entire leather surface with the remaining vinegar and oil mixture. Rub a thin coating over the leather, let it sit until dry, then gently buff it with a clean, dry rag. This will leave your leather surface clean, conditioned and looking like new.
