The cleaner is available for purchase online or at department or home stores nationwide. The shampooer comes standard with a two-year warranty. The use of the machine requires carpet shampoo, available wherever you can purchase the shampooer.

Things You Will Need

  • Dirt Devil Featherlite carpet shampooer
  • Carpet shampoo
  • Water
  1. Press the cleaning solution tank lever while tilting the tank forward and pulling it off of the shampooer base.

  2. Remove the measuring cap from the shampooer's tank.

  3. Fill the cap with carpet shampoo and pour it into the tank.

  4. Repeat Step 3.

  5. Fill the tank with hot tap water to the line marked "Fill."

  6. Replace the measuring cap on the tank.

  7. Place the tank on the shampooer base. You will know it is in place when you hear a click.

  8. Plug the shampooer into an electrical outlet.

  9. Press the handle release lever on the nozzle of the shampooer.

  10. Turn the power switch, located on the handle of the shampooer, to "On."

  11. Press the cleaning solution spray trigger while pulling the shampooer slowly backwards.

  12. Let go of the spray trigger and push the shampooer forward over the same area.

  13. Repeat Step 11 and Step 12 over entire carpet or until the water in tank becomes black.
