There are a few tricks you can use to get the wrinkles out of your tablecloths, so they can look smooth and unwrinkled.

Launder your tablecloth in the normal way you always do, but instead of throwing it in the dryer until it is bone dry, pull it out while it still has a touch of dampness to it. Drape it over the table right away so it can dry straight.

Iron your tablecloth with a regular clothes iron. It will help if you use the steam setting in addition to the recommended heat for the fabric. Lay one section over the ironing board and concentrate on ironing just one half, section to section. Do the second half in the same way until the whole tablecloth is ironed. Lay it over the table or a bed until you are ready to use it.

Lay the tablecloth over the table and spritz it with a clean spray bottle filled with 8 ounces of warm water and about 1 ounce of white vinegar. Spray the liquid evenly over the tablecloth until you see the wrinkles ease out. If you have a wood table, you may want to put a dry layer of cloth like a sheet under the tablecloth until it dries. Any vinegar odor will dissipate as it dries.

Hang your tablecloth out on a laundry line if it is a warm sunny day. The heat of the sun will relax the wrinkles. If you have a pure cotton tablecloth, you may need to dampen it first with a little white vinegar water as in Step 3 before you hang it out on the line.

- If you are going to go to the lengths of using a tablecloth on your dining room or kitchen table, then you certainly cannot have it wrinkled.
