How to Remove Marks From a Canadel Table

Elle Di Jensen

Canadel tables are beautiful hardwood pieces that are as valuable as they are attractive. But when you purchase a dining table, you buy it to be used--and even the most vigilant people experience accidents. If you find yourself with a mark on your Canadel hardwood table, don’t panic. There are a couple of home-remedy tricks that may enable you to remove the mark and enable you to avoid having to refinish the surface.

For Water Ring Marks

It's not always necessary to refinish your Canadel table when accidents occur.

Step 1

Plug in the iron and turn the heat setting to medium-low--use medium if your iron doesn’t have the medium-low setting.

Step 2

Wipe the surface of the table with a clean dustcloth.

Step 3

Place the dishtowel or T-shirt over the mark on the table surface.

Step 4

Run the heated iron over the cloth in the area where the marks are for no more than 3 or 4 seconds.

Step 5

Remove the cloth from the table.

For Ink and Heat Marks

Step 1

Wipe the surface of the table with a clean dustcloth.

Step 2

Mix a small amount of toothpaste with some of the baking soda to make a paste.

Step 3

Rub the paste over the heat mark with your fingers in a circular motion. The paste will begin to feel warm.

Step 4

Wipe the area clean with a damp cloth.
