How to Get Grease off of Formica
Formica is a plastic laminate that is used in the construction of many kitchen cabinets and countertops. Because it is made of plastic, it is easy to clean -- including getting grease off it. However, when cleaning Formica, it is important to dry it thoroughly. This is because too much exposure to water can potentially damage the adhesive underlying the Formica.
Step 1
Mix dish detergent with hot water.
Step 2
Soak a cloth in the sudsy water.
Step 3
Wipe down the greasy Formica with the soapy cloth.
Step 4
Rinse the cloth and repeat until all of the grease has been removed.
Step 5
Rinse the cloth and wipe the Formica down with plain water.
Step 6
Dry the Formica thoroughly with a clean cloth.
