Step 1
Apply a specialty liquid ceramic cooktop cleaner once the area cools. Rub the cleaner on the cooktop with a paper towel. Rinse with fresh water and look for any signs of discoloration.

Pour more of the cleaning product on the stains and let it sit for several minutes. Rub the scrubbing pad over the surface, rubbing deep into the stain. The abrasive nature of the scrubbing pad helps release the stain and removes the discoloration.
Step 3
Rub a small amount of cream cleaner on the discolored area and let sit until the stain absorbs the cream. Slowly scrape a razor blade over the surface, using the edge of the blade to lift off any food or debris causing the discoloration. Wipe the area with a wet paper towel.
Step 4
Sprinkle baking soda over the discoloration. Dip a kitchen sponge in warm water and squeeze out the excess liquid. Rub the sponge over the baking soda, using the motion to gently lift away any debris and reveal the natural color of the cooktop underneath.
Step 5
Scrub the discolored area with bathroom cleaner if other methods don't work. The cleaner lifts stains off ceramic and glass surfaces without leaving streaks or scratches. Wipe the cleaner off the cooktop with a damp paper towel.
