GE True Temp Oven Cleaning Instructions

A GE True Temp Oven is a General Electric appliance model used in home for many years. These are electric ovens that maintain a more consistent heat flow, cooking food more evenly. As with any oven, regular cleaning is an important aspect of keeping your True Temp Oven performing optimally. Spills, splatters and drips create a barrier over the heating surfaces, affecting cooking temperatures, adding unwanted odors and flavors to your dishes.

Regular cleaning is part of the standard care of your GE oven.
  1. Turn of all cooking surfaces, internal and external. Allow the oven to cool.

  2. Wipe all surfaces down with a damp cloth. This will remove most loose dirt and crumb particles from the oven.

  3. Mix a nickel-sized amount of dishwashing liquid with warm water. Wipe the cook top, inside walls and floor with a cloth dampened with the soapy water.

  4. Wipe it down with a clean dry cloth.

  5. Apply a nickel-sized amount of mineral oil cleaner on the cloth and wipe down the stainless steel surfaces.

  6. Turn broiler on to loosen any caked-on spills or drips. Allow it to heat for ten minutes and turn it off. Wipe the broiler with a dampened cloth; then wipe it dry.

  • Never use steel-wool on range or oven surfaces. This will scratch the surface.
