Decide which items you will be storing. It may be helpful to group like items together, such as sweaters, dress clothes or winter coats.
Place all your items into an appropriately sized space saver bag.
Seal the bag.
Plug in the vacuum and connect the attachment to the space saver bag's circular-shaped valve.
Turn the vacuum on and watch as the air is removed from your bag and your items become compressed.
Remove the vacuum cleaner attachment and turn off the vacuum when the bag as been satisfactorily compressed.
Place the compressed bag into storage until you're ready to use the items again. Popular storage places include closet shelves, attics, basements and even garages.
Fetch the bag and open it up when you're ready to use your items again. The items will decompress, and you will find that they are in the same condition as when you first placed them into the space saver bag.
- For a better seal, leave approximately 4 inches of space between the bag's zip seal and your clothing.
