When purchasing the supplies to repair your wicker patio furniture, select wicker in the same color of your furniture.
Things You Will Need
Replace Wicker Strand

Turn your wicker chair over, upside down. Cut the ends of damaged strand at an angle with your scissors, and carefully remove the strand.

Measure the old strand with your tape measure and add 2 inches. Cut a new strand of wicker that you presoaked in water for approximately 20 minutes.

Weave the new strand of wicker on the furniture’s underside following the original pattern. Pull the wicker tight as you are weaving it.

Trim the new strand of wicker with your scissors. Butt the ends of the new wicker strand with the wicker on the furniture and apply your waterproof glue. Allow the glue to dry according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Replace Wicker Spoke

Cut the spoke with your diagonal-cutting pliers a few strands into the weave pattern on your wicker furniture and remove it. Measure the length of your cut spoke with your tape measure.

Feed the new spoke into place by holding it with your needle-nose pliers and following the original pattern on your furniture. If the dry spoke becomes difficult to work with, you may soak it in water. This allows the spoke to become more flexible.

Apply glue to all ends of the spoke. Allow the glue to dry.
Unraveled Binder

Cut off the old piece of binder cane with your utility knife and remove it.

Glue and gently nail down one end of the presoaked (soaked in water) cane strip where you will start wrapping the furniture. Use your glue, nail and hammer.

Wind the strip of binding tightly and evenly around your wicker furniture. Typically, cane binding is placed on the legs of wicker furniture.

Apply glue to the end of cane binding and gently nail the end with a nail and hammer. This ensures the cane binding does not unravel or remove from the leg of your wicker furniture.

Cut off any excess cane binding with your scissors.
