The Best Way to Glue a Ceramic Pot Together

Wash the pieces of the pot with mild dish soap, wearing leather work gloves. The leather will help to protect your hands from the sharp edges of the broken pot. Use a scrub brush to scrub away any soil that was in the pot when it broke.

Place the washed pieces of the pot onto a dry towel to dry completely.

Place all of the broken pieces of the pot onto a layer of newspaper, wearing the leather work gloves.

Set the base of the pot flat onto the newspaper and apply ceramic epoxy to the broken edges with a plastic paintbrush.

Press the pieces that fit along the broken edges onto the glue-covered edges and hold each one for about 30 seconds to allow the epoxy to cure enough to temporarily hold the piece in place.

Continue building the pot back together, gluing one piece at a time, with the epoxy.

Place the pot into the bottom of a dry bucket and pour dry rice around it and inside of it to create pressure on both sides of the walls around the pot. Leave it in place for 24 hours to allow the epoxy to fully cure before using your pot.
