Wet the nylon brush under hot running water. Hot water alone helps to remove some of the grease buildup.

Put rubber gloves on your hands to keep them dry and protect them from the drying effects of dishwashing detergent. Drizzle several drops of dishwashing detergent onto the wet scrub brush. Work the detergent into the scrub brush bristles by brushing it back and forth over the palm of your hand.

Rinse the brush with warm water to wash out the detergent and grease. Apply, rub and rinse the dishwashing detergent two or three more times to remove as much grease as possible.

Tackle any remaining grease in the nylon brush bristles with a vinegar and baking soda mixture. Pour 2 cups undiluted white vinegar into the bucket. Stir in 1/2 cup baking soda. Soak the scrub brush in the solution for several hours to break down the grease and remove greasy odor.

Rinse the nylon brush under hot water. Shake the brush to remove excess moisture. Set the clean brush on a towel with the bristles facing down. Allow the nylon brush to air dry completely.
