How to Remove the Back Filter Cover From a Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum Cleaner
The Kenmore Company produces many types of home appliances, including stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers, and vacuum cleaners. Kenmore canister vacuums consist of a central unit that moves on wheels with a hose that attaches to the suction head. Kenmore Progressive canister vacuums feature a HEPA filtration system, variable power and a variety of attachment tools. The filter must be cleaned on a regular basis to ensure proper suction and performance and it is relatively easy to open the back filter cover to access the filter.
- Turn off the vacuum and disconnect from the power source. Pull the hood release on the vacuum canister and lift up to remove the back cover.
- Remove the dust bag from the compartment.
- Lift up the rubber retainer and lift out the filter.
- Pull back on the filter cover and remove the filter.
