Vinegar is another home remedy for ants. Combine 2 cups of vinegar with 1 cup of water. Mix and place in a spray bottle. Spray this into all of your corners, along the window, doors, and anywhere ants find a way to enter your home.
Peppermint and cloves are two herbs known to deter ants. Place some peppermint or cloves along the areas where you see ants. Other plants that deter ants include bay leaves, marigold, lavender, tansy and pennyroyal.
