  1. Fill a clean spray bottle with white vinegar.
  2. Before laundering, spray the perspiration odors as well as other smelly areas of the clothing with vinegar until saturated. Let stand about 10 minutes.
  3. Wash your clothing as usual, but don't add any bleach. Mixing vinegar and bleach can cause harmful fumes.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar during the final rinse cycle.
  5. Hang the clothing to dry, then inspect to make sure the odor is gone. Do not put the garment in the dryer until the odor is eliminated, because the heat can set odors and stains.
  6. Tip

If you are worried about using vinegar on fabrics, test it in an inconspicuous area first. Use white vinegar in the rinse cycle on a regular basis to keep clothing soft and smelling fresh.
